Day 59
Well the day started off very wet, with only small gusts.  However in the afternoon we had lots of sun and a  lot of wind, gusts of perhaps F6 or F7.   Definitely not a sailing day.  We loafed around town a bit and stocked up on supplies again.  Apparently the wind is goind to be even stronger tomorrow - i look forward to that, |I don't think! Of the books I bought yesterday, one is a detective story based around this area - really good checking out places etc.
view of Tarbert town
In the town, many of the shops have pictures painted by local artists, and it's really interesting seeing all the different views and styles.

While I've been typing this, the boat has been rocking about, almost like we are sea!

Not only you. We left early this morning to take Clare on her swim. The Great North Swim. It poured all the way there and while we were waiting. We got there about 11, no idea why she wanted to get there that early. Her swim was at 3.30 . But people of all ages were doing 250 m , the very young up to full day, swim , run swim etc. Clare was only down for a mile swim. Despite the rain swimming conditions were good for swimmers in the morning, not for spectators. Later the wind got up and they thought they may have to cancel but went ahead. Clare had never done open water swimming but completed her course in a better time than she expected. Now she is aiming for the big swim next year in Loch Lomond, but this time she will do 2 miles. They have to build up to get to the longer swims, are not allowed to go straight to the long ones. So despite everything she completed it, got a good time and a medal. We got soaked and very hungry. Arrived home tired and worn out but had Ella for the night so had to get her down before we could go to bed . Luckily she slept through until 8 am, Anna was so upset as Ella has been waking up loads during the night. So perhaps Ella did the swim with Clare in her mind! Hope you get away on the sea again soon.
