Still been very hot, but at least today has been slightly cooler.  Henry is still suffering from the heat, but at least we take him out in the cool first thing in the morning and he seems to like that.

Finally went sailing on Friday.  The aim was to go to Yarmouth for lunch, and then home.  However, there was a regatta at Yarmouth and we were turned away.  Quick as a flash I was on the phone to Lymington Yacht Haven and we got a mooring for lunch.  Lovely.  Even cheaper than going to the Harbour.  The boys had a sleep after lunch and I went off and did my little painting.

Lovely sail both ways, and the day was fun.

I went swimming three times during the week, one of the days felt really hard, but I think it might have been due to the heat, also the pool for some reason didn't have as much water in it as usual, about 15 inches short in depth.  I managed to bang my knees on the pool floor twice!

Watercolour live on Thursday.  Bit messy, felt very rushed this time.

However, during the week I did manage an oil sketch, quite a few gouache sketches, and watercolour and pen, So I don't feel too bad.  I also managed a watercolour which may, or may not, be good enough to frame.  Hold the jury decision on that.

Doesn't really look a lot when I read it over, but the heat made it very difficult to do anything and heat lethargy played a strong part!

 

 

 

 Still very hot, and lethargy has set in.  Difficult to get inspired to do anything.  Have managed to keep painting outside first thing in the morning, and I have kept up the swimming, but not much else.

Met Carol for coffee on Wednesday and went to Island Sailing Club on Friday for a meeting about sailing in company - not really that successful, but still we shall wait and see.

My other painting, of which there was not a lot, has basically not been very good.  Excuse is the heat, but that's not really a very good excuse.  Must try harder (just like school).

Henry is still suffering in the heat and our walks are very limited.

Think we're going to get a few days of slightly cooler weather - fingers crossed. 

 Just a quick note.  It is still incredibly hot.  Difficult to do painting.  I have done a couple of oil sketches and one that may just be good enough to frame, but no excited about it.  Have to get my head round doing pictures which I consider good enough to frame! As it's been so hot, it's been difficult to do my morning plein air painting as well, so I've rushed them a bit.  I really must spend some time thinking and concentrating on what I want to achieve with my painting.

Poor old Henry has really suffered in the heat, he just can't do anything.  However, today was the first day it was very slightly cooler and fresher and when we took him to the park, he had a really wow time dashing about.  Now, as it's getting hotter again, he's asleep.

I did manage to go swimming four times this week and also managed to increase the number of lengths.  Pain in my sacrum has now gone (thank goodness), was it due to the swimming, who knows?  

I know the weather is an excuse, but I have noticed everyone is a bit faded and just sitting around.  Perhaps next week will be a bit easier.
